We’ve made it to four months! Maddie’s quiet newborn days are over. Wait, what am I talking about? Maddie has never been quiet nor has she ever quite acted like a newborn. I remember her pediatrician’s warning at her 2 week check-up, “Uh oh, you guys will have your hands full. Even this young she is very alert!”
We’ve entered the ‘golden age’ of babyhood… full of smiles & giggles but still without the stress of mobility. Maddie has mastered grabbing; when she is not grabbing at my hair (or my shirt, or my ear) she is reaching out for her toys and immediately putting them in her mouth. It was cute for about 2 seconds, until the excessive drooling and obsessive toy-cleaning.
This month I’ve also just started back at work (boo) and we’ve abandoned our nap and eating schedule which has completely thrown Maddie’s night sleep for a loop. On top of that Maddie has started to roll so we had to ditch the swaddle. Cue: sleepless nights. Between the erratic night wakings, going back to work and creating new routines I am so exhausted!
